The specific thematic focus of the course will be the debate of contemporary approaches in conflict analysis, in particular the concept of "fragility" and "fragile states", as well as the interrelated concepts and concrete processes of intervention therein. The current discourses und processes on political and policy level in the context of "security and development" and their strategic and operative implications within the OECD-countries (like "Whole-of-Government"- and "Whole-of-Nation"-Approaches) will be discussed along with the impacts and implications of such interventions in the so called "target regions".
THE PART OF THE THEMATIC FOCUS OF THE COURSE (4 LECTURES) WILL BE HELD MAINLY IN ENGLISH.
