Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This is an introductory reading course in comparative politics. It provides students with an overview of basic concepts in comparative politics and the main approaches to analyzing political processes, institutions and policies.

Assessment and permitted materials

Mitarbeit und Anwesenheit: 10 Prozent der Gesamtnote.
Impulsreferat in Kleingruppen: 30 Prozent der Gesamtnote.
Response Papers: 30 Prozent der Gesamtnote.
Abschlusstest: 30 Prozent der Gesamtnote.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The objective of the course is to deepen students' understanding of fundamental concepts and approaches in political science with a focus on the comparative analysis of politics. The course will also develop students' analytical skills through their critical engagement with arguments from the relevant academic literature.

Examination topics

Diskussion der Texte auf Basis von mündlichen Präsentationen und in Form von Plenums- und Gruppendiskussionen.
