Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Joint readings and discussions of scholarly literature which in contrast to the sui generis proposition proceed from the assumption that the EU can also be studied in a comparative perspective.
Assessment and permitted materials
For each weekly meeting all participants have to read the assigned texts, prepare notes and participate in the discussion, if necessary on the basis of individual call ups. In addition each participant has to write a short paper on an assigned political system (empire or union) which may be the object of a comparison with the EU.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Jointly gain new perspectives and a better understanding of the European integration process.
