Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course has parts: in the first part includes developing a research question, chosing a research design and methods for data collection and data analysis. In the second part the students will acquire knowledge of qualitative methods.

Assessment and permitted materials

presence and a presentation in class are a must. Students will wrtie a paper, consicting of two parts: in the first part (7-10 pages) they will develop a research question and hypotheses, in the second part (10 pages) they will answer their question using qualitative methods. Dates for handing in the papers will be announced in the first session.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course will enable students to formulate their own reseach question and to develop an adequate research design to answer the research question. furthermore, students will learn how to conduct and analysis qualitative interviews

Examination topics

In the first session of the course a list with relevant literature for each of the following sessions will be handed out. The first part of the course will be structured by presentations, group work and discussion.
