Peer Mentoring:
All students interested in becoming a mentor should write a letter of motivation to doris.arztmann@univie.ac.at ahead of the new term. The lecturer carefully selects a team of mentors based on diversity criteria. Applicants with a multi-language background are especially encouraged to apply as mentors.

Classes

The training for this course starts in February. There are regular meetings during the term for supervision. All sessions in February are compulsory.


Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Prepares and accompanies elder students to be mentors for first term student during the STEOP phase.

Assessment and permitted materials

-presence during all appointments (1x absence is allowed)
-meetings with menses once every second week
-memos after every meeting, where you reflect on what happened
-final refection paper at the end of the term
-collection of inscription numbers of all mentees
-participation in introduction of the program and the invitation of mentees during the introductory phase
- you will additionally get a soft skill certificate from the CTL

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Peer Mentoring is a program addressing students in their first term at Vienna University/department of political science. Its aim is to facilitate the STEOP phase and helps to accommodate students in their new context. You are part of a Mentoring -Team, you cooperate und take part in supervision meetings.
