Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The seminar will accompany and support the students in writing their bachelor theses. Students will receive academic guidance in drafting and implementing their theses. We will discuss research plans and deal with academic texts related to theory, methodology, and methods.

Assessment and permitted materials

In addition to completing their bachelor thesis, students are required to submit text summaries, conduct research, draft research concepts, hold presentations and engage in group work.

Max. 2x absence
Weekly assignments
Drafting and presenting a research concept
Giving peer feedback to a research concept
Writing a bachelor thesis

This (pro-)seminar / course will be accompanied by the writing assistants trained by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). In this context, students are required to meet up with a writing assistant once in the course of the semester for approx. 50 minutes to discuss the state of their writing project. Moreover, students will receive feedback by writing assistants on two of their written assignments, which they will then, after having sufficient time to rework them, have to submit as part of the course credit requirements.

• Submission of the first draft of the written assignments with a reflection page
• Reviewed version of the written assignments
• Attending one writing consultation with a writing assistant
