Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The purpose of the Bachelor's seminar is to support students working on the bachelor thesis. The course deepens the theoretical, technical and methodological competencies, in addition to making students qualified for addressing a research question in political science in an autonomous way.
In the Bachelor's seminar, students will develop a research question related to a specific topic of interest and present it in the seminar. These topics will be discussed with the other students and with the lecturer both in class and individually. In addition to the ongoing work on the bachelor thesis, the seminar also includes an overview of scientific methods that can be applied to properly address different research questions.

Assessment and permitted materials

The final assessment will be based on the following components:
- Concept: literature review and thesis outline (20% of the final grade)
- Presentation (10% of final grade)
- Cooperation and Peer feedback (10% of final grade)
- Bachelor thesis (60% of final grade)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Attending the first class
- Regular attendance (you can miss maximum two classes, except the first class)
- Willingness to cooperate in class and to give feedback to other students’ presentations
- Writing a research proposal and presenting through different activities
- Timely submission of the assignments
- Timely submission of a bachelor thesis that meets the formal criteria

Capacity to structure a text in a logicl way and write clearly
Capacity to select relevant and high quality scientific sources
Capacity to reference the sources used
