Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar, you will work on your own bachelor thesis. You will arrive at a question, develop an empirical strategy, analyse evidence and data, and write up your results in a scientific manner. You will also be expected to present your work-in-progress in the seminar. At the end of the term, you will have completed your bachelor thesis.
Please note that the topic of the bachelor thesis must fall within the discipline of political science and must be empirical in nature. Suitable areas of inquiry include coalition governments, voting behaviour, comparative politics, political representation, and party politics. The seminar will be held in English.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Please note that this course is held in English. Students must be able and willing to read and understand academic literature in English and also be able to follow and take part in a discussion in English. Students also have to submit their coursework in English.

Attendance is required in the first class and, overall, not more than two classes can be missed (‘prüfungsimmanente Lehrveranstaltung’).

The deadline for submission of the final thesis is 28 July 2024. Extensions will not be granted.
