Die Lehrformate für das WS (digital, hybrid, vor Ort) befinden sich in Entwicklung. Die Lehrenden werden die geplante Organisationsform und Lehrmethodik auf ufind und Moodle bekannt geben. Aufgrund von Covid19 muss mit kurzfristigen Änderungen in Richtung digitaler Lehre gerechnet werden.

Nicht-prüfungsimmanente (n-pi) Lehrveranstaltung. Eine Anmeldung über u:space ist erforderlich. Mit der Anmeldung werden Sie automatisch für die entsprechende Moodle-Plattform freigeschaltet. Vorlesungen unterliegen keinen Zugangsbeschränkungen.

VO-Prüfungstermine erfordern eine gesonderte Anmeldung.

Aims, contents and method of the course

NOTE: DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION, THE COURSE WILL BE IN DIGITAL FORMAT, WITH APPROXIMATELY 50% OF SYNCHRONOUS (WEBINARS THROUGH BIGBLUEBUTTON + VIRTUAL CONSULTATION HOURS) AND 50% OF ASYNCHRONOUS CLASSES (ASSIGNEMENTS AND INTERACTION THROUGH MOODLE).

This course examines the development of a common EU´s migration policy, its actors, processes and implications, with a particular focus on its external dimension. By focusing on the EU´s policies and politics involved in migration governance, it allows understanding the challenges that international migration has raised for the European integration process itself.

Weekly assignments (50%)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The grade will be based on the following criteria:
Preparation of the assigned readings ahead of every session (in class and online)
Individual written assignment (essay)
Oral assignments (presentation or group discussions depending on the final number of students)
Submission of each assignment on time is mandatory.
Demonstrate an appropriate use of academic sources and the capacity to look for scientifically relevant sources.

Examination topics

Students are expected to engage with the literature of the course provided by the lecturer and look independently for additional literature.
