Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture provides an overview of governments in modern democracies. It explains central concepts in this research field and addresses the following topics: the shaping of the modern executive, governments under different regime types, the political sociology and political psychology of the executive, government formation, political parties and executive autonomy, the politics of government coalitions, government capacity and performance, and modern challenges to government.

51 (of 100) points in the written examination. Scheme for grading: 1–50 points: 5, 51–50 points: 4, 61–60 points: 3, 71–75 points: 2, 86–100 points: 1.
