Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Despite the current economic crisis and the wide-spread criticism, the European Union is still regarded as the world’s most successful attempt of peaceful cooperation among nation-states. Unfortunately, it is also an incredibly complex political system that poses considerable analytical challenges to academics and practitioners alike. It is thus the main objective of this seminar to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the EU's institutional architecture, policy-making and its democratic legitimacy (or lack thereof).
