Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

It is the main objective of this course to provide non political science students with a comprehensive overview of the EU's institutional architecture, its relevant policy-making modes and its democratic legitimcy (or lack thereof).

Assessment and permitted materials

Regular attendance and reading of the basic material, students are expected to write 7 brief reviews, make a short presentation and participate in a final test.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students have to pass all assignments (i.e. reviews, presentation and test) to pass the course

Examination topics

Information about the required reading (i.e. book chapters or journal articles) will be given in the first session.

Reading list

For each session students have to read one (or two) text(s) and to be prepared to discuss them. Nearly all of these texts will be made available via Moodle. Further details will be given in the first session.
