Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course is designed to introduce students to the foundations of political theory and the key concepts of political science: the modern state, rule of law, social theory, and political economy. Topics discussed in the course are chosen out of the theoretical framework of the lecture. It is therefore recommended to complete both the lecture and this course during the same term.
Students will also learn the basic academic writing and research skills necessary for their further course of study (that is, how to formulate and solve a specific problem using scientific literature) and they will be encouraged to critically reflect on political science issues.
Furthermore, the course aims to equip students with soft-skills, including the ability to work in teams, communication and presentation skills, self-organization, and using web-based learning methods.

The course will be taught in the English language.
