Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course is a basic introduction to the main institutions of American government and the important patterns of American political behavior. It will be organized around the basic textbook, O'Conner and Sabato, American Government: Continuity and Change (see below). It will focus on national level American politics and government as well as America's War on Terror and Iraq War. Along with the basic textbook, other readings will be assigned by the instructor and will be available on reserve or on the internet. There will be a final written examination in this course.
