Aims, contents and method of the course

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of theoretical approaches, concepts, and phenomena related to media literacy. It will introduce fundamental concepts in media literacy and its boundary conditions, providing students with a robust foundation in understanding the role of media literacy in shaping media effects. Through a blend of theoretical discussions and methodological insights, students will acquire the skills necessary to assess and undertake research on media literacy, evaluating its implications. Additionally, the course will facilitate critical discussions on real-life case examples of media literacy interventions, allowing students to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of various approaches in promoting media literacy and mitigating potential negative effects of media consumption.
