Basics in writing for magazines: research, balance of visuals and text, writing peculiarities. Focussing on portrait, "trend-stories", tests. Special: possibilities and status quo of business journalism

Aims, contents and method of the course

In der UE Print werden die journalistischen Darstellungsformen wie Bericht, Interview, Reportage und Kommentar vertieft - und zwar auf Grundlage der in der AT Print erworbenen Kenntnisse.

Assessment and permitted materials

Benotet wird die Themenseite als Gesamtwerk des Arbeitsteams (Bewertung nach Punkteschema - Details in LV erläutert).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Nach einigen Aufwärmübungen wird jede/r ein eigenes Zeitungsprojekt in Form einer Themenseite umsetzen (Themenseiten nach Vorbild von Der Standard, Presse oder Salzburger Nachrichten). Die LV-Leiterin steht dabei jedem Arbeitsteam für Themenfindung, Recherche und Verfassen der Artikel beratend zur Seite. Das Ziel ist es, eine publikationswürdige Artikelserie zu erarbeiten.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Grundlage guten Journalismus' ist das Argument,
die Grundlage des Arguments ist die Information,
die Grundlage der Information ist die Recherche.

Sie lernen: Recherchetechniken von der telefonischen Recherche über das persönliche Gespräch bis zu Online-Datenbanken wie Grund- und Firmenbuch, den taktischen Umgang mit (gesellschafts)politischen und wirtschaftlichen Akteuren von Pressesprechern bis Ministern - und vor allem den Umgang mit Information als Instrument des investigativen Journalismus'.

Vorabinfo dazu: Die praktischen Übungen werden großteils für das Transparenz-Blog Amtsgeheimnis.at erarbeitet werden - damit also stets realen Hintergrund haben.

Ihre Voraussetzung: Sie sind über das tagespolitische Geschehen bestens informiert, sowie vor allem über die causa prima der mutmaßlichen Korruptionsskandale rund um Buwog, Telekom und Co permanent auf dem Laufenden.

Und das Wichtigste: Sie haben Fragen!

Mehrere Übungsarbeiten, permanente Mitarbeit.

Ad Übungsarbeiten:
Abgaben via Email,
Deadlines sind strikt,
verspätete Abgaben werden nicht mehr angenommen
(und führen damit zu Auswirkungen auf die Gesamtnote)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Sie sollen danach in der Praxis einsetzbar sein und jede investigative Recherche angehen können. Das bedingt aber, dass Sie sich über die Herausforderung dieser Lehrveranstaltung drüber trauen.

Mut und Mitarbeit wird stets goutiert und gefördert,
Desinteresse und Passivität sind leider unbrauchbar.

Examination topics

Vielleicht ein wenig unkonventionell,
hoffentlich aber wirkungsvoll.
