230026 VO Social Inequalities - New Approaches and Young Scholars' Perspectives (2017W)

The lecture gives an overview of new approaches to social inequality (especially from a young scholars' perspective). After the first introductory sessions, invited guest speakers will present their perspectives on social inequalities and discuss them with the students. The lecture will deal with diverse topics, such as global and educational inequalities, poverty, gender inequality, migration, social movements and cultural as well as political perspectives. The lecture is organised by board members of the Austrian section on social inequality within the Austrian Sociological Association. Invited speakers are e.g. Karin Fischer, Miriam Rehm and Matthias Schnetzer, Barbara Rothmüller, Stefan Angel, Roland Atzmüller, Carina Altreiter and Saskja Schindler, Michael Parzer, Jakob Hartl as well as Jessica Richter and Ulrich Schwarz.
