Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Die Übung richtet sich an Studierende, die die Potentiale von visuellen Datenmaterial (Fotografien) kennenlernen und an Hand eines gemeinsamen Themas soziologisch einsetzen wollen. Nach einer allgemeinen Einführung in die Prinzipien der qualitativen Forschung und visuellen Erhebungsmethoden (Fotointerview, Fotobefragung, Photo-Voice, Fotodokumentationen) stehen qualitative Interpretationstechniken und deren praktische Anwendung im Mittelpunkt.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Ziel ist es die SeminarteilnehmerInnen zu befähigen, visuelle Daten in einer qualitativen Forschungsarbeit sowohl als Basismaterial als auch als ergänzendes Material bzw. Dokumentationsmaterial in einer sozialwissenschaftlichen visuellen Analyse zu verwenden.
Examination topics
Die ständige Präsenz sowie aktive Mitarbeit ist Voraussetzung für den erfolgreichen Abschluß der Lehrveranstaltung. Die Arbeit in kleinen Teams ist erwünscht, und wird von der Leitung unterstützt. In der praktischen Umsetzung werden die Teams dahingehend unterstützt, Kooperationen zu etablieren und arbeitsteilige Verfahren zu nützen, um ein effizientes Forschungsdesign anzuwenden.
