Aims, contents and method of the course
Die Lehrveranstaltung bietet einen einführenden Überblick über Grundlagen und Untersuchungsmethoden der empirischen Sozialforschung.
Assessment and permitted materials
Anwesenheit, Präsentationen, Durchführung praktischer Beispiele, schriftliche Arbeit am Ende des Semesters.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Kenntnis der wichtigsten Erhebungsverfahren der empirischen Sozialforschung. Nachvollzug wichtiger Schritte bei der Erarbeitung von Forschungsinstrumenten. Es soll anhand der Probleme und Fragen, welche bei der Entwicklung von Erhebungsinstrumenten entstehen (Definitionen, Hypothesenbildung, Operationalisierung usw.) beispielhaft die Durchführung empirischer Projekte geübt und diskutiert werden.
Examination topics
Um die Thematik zusammenhängend behandeln zu können, werden gängige Lehrbücher als Grundlage herangezogen und relevante Themen gemeinsam durchgearbeitet. Weiters: selbständige Lektüre; Anfertigung von kleinen praktischen Beispielen durch die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer; Gruppenarbeiten; Ad hoc-Demonstrationen zu verschiedenen Methoden.
