Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Upon completing this course, students will students will be able to:
(1) demonstrate understanding of the key elements in behavioral statistical analysis, using inferential statistics;
(2) solve statistics problems from their Statistics 02 Lecture Series;
(3) interpret the answers of problems they solved.

This statistics course is a supplement for Statistics 02 Lecture Series and will focus on problem solving using inferential statistical procedures, such as hypothesis testing and regression analysis. In addition, this course will also help students to understand how social scientists interpret the results from these statistical procedures. At the end of the course students will be able to understand basic statistics, as well as solve basic statistical problems. This course is a foundation course for advanced statistics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Students will be assessed in the following ways:
(a) Homework assignments
(b) Two (2) in-class exams
(c) Class participation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

1 Sehr gut 90% or more
2 Gut 80% - 89%
3 Befriedigend 70% - 79%
4 Genügend 60% - 69%
5 Nicht genügend 59% or less

Examination topics

Students will be assessed as stated in the "assessment and permitted material", as well as the "minimum requirements and assessment criteria" above.
