Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This seminar provides participants with an overview on current methods of qualitative research in sociology. One main goal is to understand the methodological principles of this approach. The other main goal is to practice three specific methods in small groups: Observation, Interview and Artifact Analysis. Thereby students will also learn how to gather and how to analyze such data.

Presence in the course, active participation, work in groups (oral and written)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Minimum requirements for passing the course are: successfully presenting one of the seminar texts as well as writing three short reports in due form. Additionally attendence to the course is compulsory, you may be absent for a maximum of 20% of class time.
