Aims, contents and method of the course
Theories of ageing including research on stereotypes; life course research including historical aspects and non-industrialized societies; demographics; special aspects: life in institutions; ageing workers and retirement; health and care systems; family relations and isolation; elder abuse and neglect
Assessment and permitted materials
written exam, oral presentations of empirical or theoretical work; research paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
To gain more insight into the special dynamics and problems of later life, that has gained enormously in importance in the last few decades.
Examination topics
Cooperation between lectures and results of work teams who concentrate either on empirical or theoretical research.
