Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course focuses on professional written and oral communiation in English in the scientific field. How do I write an attractive abstract? What do I have to consider when writing an article? How do I design a presentation for a foreign-language audience? Which linguistic features can I use for my argumentation? etc.
Beside linguistic correctness, specific phrases and text elements can contribute to making your text better understandable and more attractive for readers and listeners. The course provides strategies for adapting texts for particular audiences.
The contents are delivered through input by the lecturer and especially by means of practical exercises (single and group work, creative writing exercises).
