Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In today's research landscape, to frame one's research interest as a project and to write grant proposals has become a key ability. Being able to develop a more general research interest into a doable actual project is also a very helpful skill when writing master and PhD theses. In this course, students will learn to identify funding opportunities of the European and Austrian research landscape, how to develop and write a grant proposal, and how proposals are evaluated. Furthermore, we will address crucial issues of project management, and critically reflect how the framing and management of ever more scientific activities as a project impinge on how knowledge is produced in contemporary research.
