Aims, contents and method of the course

Die Lehrveranstaltung konzentriert sich auf die Konstruktion zentraler Indizes der
sozialwissenschaftlichen Praxis: Generations-Mobilitätsindex (Beruf und Bildung), Schichtindex, Lebensqualität, Human Development Index (HDI), International Socio-Economic Index of Occupational Status (ISEI)

Examination topics

Nach einem allgemeinen Einführungsteil über Indexbildung (Theorie, Variablenauswahl,
Multivariate Analyse, fehlende Werte, Gewichtung) werden die Indices im Detail besprochen und in Testdatensätzen mit dem Statistikprogramm SPSS berechnet.
(SPSS-Praxis und Kenntnisse der SPSS-Syntax zur Datentransformation sind wünschenswert)
