Aims, contents and method of the course

In der Lehrveranstaltung erhalten die TeilnehmerInnen einen Einblick in die weiterführende Datenanalyse mit dem statistischen Softwarepaket STATA. Im Mittelpunkt des Kurses stehen multivariate Analysen (lineare und logistische Regression), die Anhand von Beispielen und Übungen am PC erklärt und erlernt werden. Darüber hinaus wählen die TeilnehmerInnen ein für sie interessantes Thema aus und werden mit Hilfe der Daten des European Social Surveys (ESS) die erlernten Befehle und Optionen in praktischen Übungen umsetzen.
Voraussetzungen: Grundkenntnisse im Umgang mit STATA (Sicheres und "do-file" basiertes Arbeiten; Grundkenntnisse im generieren von Variablen; Erstellen von deskriptiven Analysen); sowie Grundkenntnisse zu linearen und logistischen Regressionen.
