Ziel der Vorlesung ist es, einen Überblick über die verschiedenen Formen und Prinzipien sozialer Organisation (z.B. Haus/halte, Verwandtschaft, Alter, Gender) sowie den Prozessen ihrer Herstellung und Reproduktion zu geben.Inhalte:
Soziale Organisation beinhaltet die Koordination menschlicher Aktivitäten in Zeit und Raum. Dabei können in unterschiedlichen Gesellschaften sehr verschiedene Kategorien mit mehr oder weniger Bedeutung belegt und dementsprechend in dauerhafte Strukturen umgesetzt werden. So ist die Bedeutung von beispielsweise Alter und Geschlecht nicht gegeben, sondern muss in Interaktionen immer wieder neu hergestellt werden. In diesen Prozessen ist die Zuordnung der Verantwortung für gegenseitige Sorgeverpflichtungen ein grundlegendes Element. Im Mittelpunkt der Vorlesung steht die Vielfalt der solcher Prozesse sozialer Organisation. Thematisiert werden verschiedene Einheiten wie Häuser, Haushalte und Staat sowie Formen der Verwandtschaft und darauf aufbauende politische Zugehörigkeiten.Methode:
