Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The course will deal with theories which were and are important for development research. Such theories will be presented and discussed by participating students (by using original texts whenever possible). The aim is to get to know these theories, to analyze and scientifically critique them in relation to each other.
Assessment and permitted materials
Oral presentation; work in class; peer review; term paper: approx. 10 pages (on a self-chosen research question)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
0-5 points: 5, 6 points: 4, 7-8 points: 3, 9-10 points: 2, 11 points: 1
a) Attendance/Anwesenheit (with a maximum absence of 3)
b) Presentation, handout and moderation/Referat mit Handout und Diskussionsmoderation: max. 3 points
c) Contribute to discussions/Mitarbeit und Diskussionsteilnahme: max. 3 points
d) Submit a written assignment/schriftl. Abschlussarbeit: max. 5 points
