Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The notions of space, place, and field seem quite related to each other. The anthropology of space and place only became a major focus of reflection by the mi-1990s, whereas notions of the field can be traced back to the Manchester School, Transactionalism, or even Comparison – and relates to fieldwork as well as theoretical issues of data analysis and presentation.
The lecture series will focus on different such concepts and will draw on examples of how to work with these concepts.

Assessment and permitted materials

The final exams will be at the end of semester (last week in January), at the beginning of the summer term (early march), before Easter, and at the end of the summer term (last week of June).
