Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course will be held entirely face-to-face (compulsory attendance!) and will be divided into four sections:
1) Introduction (overview, forms, actors and institutions of development policy)
2) History (from the 1950s to today)
3) Cross-cutting issues (e.g. intersectionality, sustainability, post-development)
4) Practices of development

Method: Discussion of weekly core texts (flipped classroom); co-moderation of students.

Assessment and permitted materials

Weekly attendance, weekly homework assignments, active participation (co-moderation by students).

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Submission of at least 9 weekly homework assignments, active participation.
As a prerequisite for participation in this course, we assume a basic knowledge of developmental studies. This knowledge can be acquired in the AG (EC-EF2). This course should be completed before taking a GM2 course.

Examination topics

No exams. Submission weekly homework assignments, active participation.
