Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course takes place as a face-to-face event. Attendance is compulsory.
The aim of the course is to critically analyse fundamental topics of development policy and development cooperation with the help of texts and their joint discussion. The course is designed to help participants develop independent analytical skills. In this sense, the active participation of the students, for example in the form of co-moderation and participation in the text discussions, is an essential part of the course.

Assessment and permitted materials

Weekly attendance, weekly written text discussions (homework), co-moderation of text discussions by students, active participation in text discussions. Technological aids, especially artificial intelligence, may be used to improve linguistic expression. However, they may not be used to circumvent the reading and critical discussion of the core texts.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

One co-moderation, submission of at least 9 weekly written text reviews, active participation in the text discussions (two sessions may be missed without excuse). The final grade results from the average of these 10 (9+1) partial grades.
