Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course deals with qualitative methods of empirical social research, which can be used to answer research questions and uncover new themes that cannot be not effectively dealt with through the use of quantitative methods and analyses. It includes an array of examples to show how qualitative methods of empirical social research can be used to provide a deep understanding of humanitarian and development actors. The course language is English.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance, active participation in class discussions, (group) presentation of a selected reading, two reading and writing assignments, and written final assignment

Active Participation 10%, (group)presentation 20%, reading and writing assignments 15% each (30% in total), written final assignment 40%

There are no exams for this course, just two reading and writing assignments and a final paper
