Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The right to decide one's own sexual orientation and gender identity, to live free from gender-based violence, and to have access to contraception, abortion and sex education is contested almost everywhere in the world. In this course, we will look at case studies from different regions and ask: What is the legal and social situation regarding sexual and reproductive rights? What historical and contemporary social constellations is this related to? And what does this mean for those affected?

This discussion takes place on the basis of short texts, blog posts and the participants' own research.

There may also be the possibility of inviting guests to the seminar (via online connection), who will then report on their resp. knowledge and experiences (tbc). Possibly some lessons could be planned online due to these invited guests.
