Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This lecture introduces potential areas of work for graduates of Gender Studies. The lecturers Marion Breiter and Kerstin Witt-Löw draw on various professional experiences of their own as well as a broad professional network during this lecture.
The areas of work covered are: Counselling, Psychotherapy, Science and research, Gender representative in organisations, Work with youth and young adults, Adult education, Health care.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam based on the areas of work and related topics presented during the lecture (Diversity, Mentoring, Networking, Equal pay) and on selected chapters oft the recommended reading list.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Students will get an overview of potential areas of work with a gender dimension. The lecture aims to show how concepts and theories of Gender Studies are applied to various professions and work environments.

Examination topics

The various areas of work will be introduced by successful and experienced professionals working in the targeted areas. The focus will be on how Gender Studies theories and knowledge are to be applied in real work situations.
In addition the lecturers Breiter and Witt-Löw will present relevant topics for professional work in areas connected to Gender Studies: Diversity, Mentoring, Networking, Equal Pay.

Reading list

Selected chapters oft the recommended reading list for the exam will be announced in january.
