Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The major aim of this seminar is to equip students with the ability to conceptualize and design a research project. During the course they will engage with, and critically reflect on, the existing literature that presents competing claims about the transformative potential of work and labour market participation for women. It is expected that by participating in the seminar, students will have a clear understanding of the current debates in the topical area, which will help them conceptualise their own research project.

Assessment and permitted materials

In principle, performance assessment takes place during the course of the semester, but the submission of a research report (to be developed on an ongoing basis) is of particular importance.
An increased amount of work must be planned for the research seminar, which is distributed over the entire academic year. Please take this into account when making your choice!

1. compulsory attendance
2. preparation and joint discussion of the collective basic reading; regular submission of small assignments for text reflection
3. keeping a research diary
4. presentation and discussion of the group work processes in the course

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

All written assignments must be submitted on time
- Students are required to read the mandatory texts before class and bring their questions related to the text for class discussion (individual)
