Aims, contents and method of the course

Contents: The lecture gives an introductory overview on gender studies. Special attention is given to the history and transformation of central concepts and an understanding of epistemological and theoretical contexts.

- Current re-visions of feminism and Gender Studies
- Contextualisation of feminist knowledge production
- Political representation, economic structures
- Queer, performance, deconstruction
- Globalisation, Migration and transnational contentions
