Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The course is exam-immanent. As a basis for assessment, the preparation of a small group presentation including a copied handout, a text with the results of dicussions within a commentary group, various forms of active participation (discussion contributions, digital voting, classification on fields, chat entries, researching contents, writing texts in small groups...) as well as reflection of own experiences and observations in the form of a final essay are used. (in German and/or English)
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The presence in the first unit is necessary to keep the place.
Minimum requirements: Minimum attendance of 6 of the 8 units, willingness for small and large group work as well as discussion, one essay, one comment, presentation and handout.
Assessment criteria: effort and intensity of the work presented.
Oral feedback will be given (upon request) on all work submitted.

Basic knowledge of various concepts of gender studies, discourses and methods.

The students' own behavior in discussions, the use of space, and restraint within the course will be continuously included in these analyses of power relations.Methods: Work is done alternately between oral and (chat) discussions in large and small groups, with analog or digital whiteboard, etherpad and possibly videos. Students can also contribute methods themselves. No previous knowledge is necessary, all the tools mentioned can be learned via links from the University of Vienna, and there will also be mutual support with them in the course.
Contributions to the discussion can be made in all languages and only then translated into German or English. In case of structural or personal barriers, disadvantage compensation is provided for.
The students themselves decide how they would like to present the contents they have chosen in the course and are allowed to determine or develop their own methods in their contribution. The results of the work are then discussed and theoretically contextualized by the teacher. The course of the discussion and all working materials are saved, updated with each appointment, linked together and made accessible on the Moodle learning platform. In the final unit, open questions are clarified and all topics are connected with each other.
