Aims, contents and method of the course
Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated pre-existing vulnerabilities, but at the same time has created new ones that were previously difficult to imagine. The first part of the course aims at analyzing the concepts of vulnerabilities and inequalities in health from medical anthropological perspective as well as exploring various kinds of vulnerabilities that emerged during the pandemic in different European contexts and how the responses to these vulnerabilities differed across Europe. In the second part of the course these different responses will be discussed as well as various approaches to overcome vulnerabilities and inequalities in health (such as cultural competence, intercultural mediation etc.) will be critically analysed.
