Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Kongko 1 is the part of BIPA 3 and BIPA 4 classes. Kongkow 1 is a class that aims to showcase what students have learned in regular classes. In this class, learners will communicate more orally with the teacher to improve their speaking skills. This Kongkow 1 class is adjusted to the B1 and B2 language levels so that the exposure material is also adjusted to the B1 and B2 level outcomes. The Kongkow class is more relaxed and student-centered so that after attending this class, students will be more fluent in communicating using Indonesian correctly.
In this class, students will learn to communicate using grammatical -lah, kah, pun, clitic -nya, me-i affixes meaning causative and locative, me-can affixes, se- affixes, conjunctions (then, when, before, not only, ), repetitions starting with ber- and ending with -an, passive active sentences, modality (will, later), ter- affixes, ke-an affixes, cause-and-effect conjunctions, majas, collocations, and idioms packed with topics that are currently being discussed in Indonesia such as issues related to healthy food, tourism, the environment, natural events, movies, fairy tales, or other current news.

Assessment and permitted materials

The students will do a speaking test in Kelas Kongkow 1, in mid semester and final exam. The speaking skills result will be compiled with other language skills in B1’s class or B2’s class. There are some aspects that will be assessed in the speaking test; those are fluency; pronunciation and accent, vocabulary; grammar; and topic development.
