Aims, contents and method of the course

Series, infinite sums, sets of real numbers: limits, completeness and convergence theorems, lim inf, lim sup, accumulation points Maps and continuity: limits and continuity in maps, properties of continuous functions, mean value theorem, elementary transcendental functions Differentiation of functions of a scalar argument: differentiability and derivative, differentiation rules, properties of differentiable functions, mean value theorem

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Acquaintance with the most important results for series, infinite sums, and the differential calculus of functions of a singel real variable.

Examination topics

Computations with series, infinite sums, functions of a single real variable, and their derivatives. Rigorous justification by the proof methodology of analysis.
