This course is held exclusively in Distance Learning mode. There is a virtual seminar room (BigBlueButton) in the corresponding Moodle course, where the course activities will take place at the announced times. This "seminar room" will open 10 minutes before the start of the course. All participants are asked to log into the "virtual seminar room" within these 10 minutes.
If you want to participate in this course, it is necessary for you to log into the "virtual seminar room" for the preparatory meeting (i.e. the first unit at March 2 at 14:15)! Students not loggin in for this meeting are un-registered from the course. Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Content: In this course we will carry out two activities. Depending on the number of participants, students will work in small groups, in pairs, or alone. In the first part, educational articles about using technology in teaching mathematics will be summarized and presented by students (duration: 35 minutes for the presentation, then feedback and discussion). In the second part, students will create GeoGebra-Applets for various topics of school mathematics, and demonstrate possible uses of these applets to their fellow students by performing teaching sequences (duration: 30 minutes for the teaching sequence, then feedback and discussion).Aims: Learning about various aspects of using technology in mathematics teaching. Aquiring competences to create electronic teaching materials, and to use these materials in practical teaching. Methods: group work, presentation, discussion
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment is based on the presentation, the uploaded GeoGebra-Applets, the performed teaching sequence, and the regular active participation.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Minimum requirements for a positive assessment:
*) Giving a presentation
*) Uploading the GeoGebra-Applets
*) Presenting a 30-minute teaching sequence
*) Regular active attendance and participation in the discussionsAssessment criteria:
*) seminar presentation (25 %)

Examination topics
Preparation and presentation of a seminar lecture, based on specified literature (eventually to be supplemented by the students); creation of GeoGebra-Applets to specified topics of school mathematics; presenting a 30-minute teaching sequence to demonstrate possible uses of the self-created applets; discussion, reflection and feedback about content and performance of the presentation.
