Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course provides an introduction to algebraic topology. Algebraic topology is the study of topological spaces and their properties that remain unchanged under continuous deformations (such as stretching and bending, but not tearing), using algebraic tools. The following topics will be covered: CW-complexes, simplicial complexes, fundamental group, covering spaces, simplicial, singular and cellular homology, cohomology. The main reference is Hatcher's book https://pi.math.cornell.edu/~hatcher/AT/ATpage.html

Oral exam at the end of the semester, appointment by email
