Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Optimization problems arise in many practical applications,
from the optimal shape of air planes or bridges to scheduling problems
or the training of neural networks.

The course treats the rich mathematical theory of optimization and the
analysis of various numerical optimization methods. Among others,
we shall learn to assess the quality of existing optimization packages.

Assessment and permitted materials
