Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This course has to be viewed as inseparable from the corresponding lecture: The material to be covered is identical (hence: see 250044 VO Grundbegriffe der Topologie), only the assignment of the appropriate parts of the learning process distinguishing the lecture and the tutorials. A thorough understandig of the notions of topology can be achieved only on the basis of both courses. As to tutorials in general, students are expected to work through the material in an independent, autonomous way, thereby deepening their understanding. This is to be accomplished by solving problems and presenting resp. discussing them in the tutorials. In view of the number of participants, we (M.G. and M.K) offer two courses in order to allow for effective working.

The problems treated in the tutorials are to be found at

http://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~michael/Top_SS_2011/pr_top11.pdf

An extended collection of problems ("Queen size", formerly "King size") is to be found at

http://www.mat.univie.ac.at/~michael/Top_SS_2011/pr_top11_queen.pdf

Registration for the tutorials will take place during the first corresponding lecture course 250 044, i.e. on March 2, 2011.
