Aims, contents and method of the course
After presenting the highlights of Greek mathematics the historical development of some important fields will be presented: numbers; analytic geometry; algebra; non-Euclidean geometries; calculus; the infinite; set theory and logics. Additionally some glances at outstanding results achieved in the last century will be given.
