Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The lecture is a continuation of the course "Representation theory" held in SS 2011. We want to discuss further methods for the construction and examination of characters of finite groups as well as applications to the study of finite groups (Theorems of Artin and Brauer on induced characters, Correspondences for characters). If time permits we would like to discuss deformations of characters. We will assume that participants are familiar with the basics of the representation theory of finite groups.
