Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Starting out from Liouville's and Dirichlet's theorem we will study the approximation of real numbers by rationals. For this purpose, we will also establish some results stemming from the geometry of numbers. The aim of the lecture is to prove, maybe not in all details, Roth's Theorem and to understand the techniques used for this proof.
