Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The first part of the course continues the representation theory of finite groups in the characteristic 0 case. We want to extend the theory as well as give examples in which we deternmine the representations of a given finite group. A central concept will be the notion of an induced representation. Using it we will construct representations as well as examnine their properties. In the second part of the lecture we want to give an introduction to the representation theory in the case of positive characteristic. The course is a continuation of the course "Darstellungstheorie endlicher Gruppen" (summer term 2010) and a basic knowledge of representation theory will be assumed.
