Mathematical contence is related to:
* (multi scale) modelling,
* (asymptotic) analysis.
* numerical analysis / methods,
* neural networks / machine learning,
* computational aspects
* practical simulations
Within certain constraints, topics freely chosen by students can be pursued.
Possible topics:
* Mathematics in (quantum) physics , materials, (micro)magnetism
* Computational Fluid Dynamics, Geophysical flows, climate/weather models
* Mathematics in engineering, biology, medicine, social sciences, economy, finance, etc.;
At least two of the following aspects should be covered: modeling, analysis, numerical methods, computer simulations.
Each student develops a selected topic for an oral presentation and a written report, under the guidance of one (or two) of the professors but otherwise independently.
