Aims, contents and method of the course

Formal derivation of the Boltzmann equation for rigid spheres, formal derivations of the compressible Euler equations and of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations from the Boltzmann equation, DiPerna-Lions existence theorem for the Boltzmann equation,
Golse-St.Raymond theorem on the Navier-Stokes limit.
